From November 12th to 14th, KIF Global Chairman Shin Koyamada and KIF Kenya Chairman Jared Ogolla were invited to attend the Nairobi Summit on ICPD25 (International Conference on Population and Development), hosted by the Kenya and Denmark governments and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), held in Nairobi, Kenya.
The Summit brought over 9,000 people and 600 speakers from around the world, including heads of state, ministers, parliamentarians, thought-leaders, technical experts, civil society organizations, grassroots organizations, young people, business and community leaders, faith-based organizations, indigenous peoples, international financial institutions, people with disabilities, academics and many others interested in the pursuit of sexual and reproductive health and rights.
During the Summit, Koyamada briefly presented what KIF is and does in empowering girls and women as a speaker in one of the sessions called "Innovative Partnerships: Harnessing Creative Industries to Tackle Stigma and Taboo", organized by Elbi.
Koyamada said, "I've been to many international conferences before, but this Summit is probably one of the best international conferences ever in terms of the scale and diversity of attendees and speakers, contents and quality of sessions, free foods and drinks served, and mostly importantly the everyone's tremendous passions and energies towards the Summit." He added, "It was a privilege to be part of the Summit and would like to thank everyone who brought me in and made my visits so amazing and productive."
